Increase in satisfaction rates for cab services aided by growth of taxi-booking appsAccording to the Taxi Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted by the Ministry of Transport, commuters have reported being more satisfied with taxi services over the past year as compared to 2013, though by only a slight margin.  In her speech in Parliament yesterday, Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo stated that 96.2 percent of the commuters surveyed were satisfied with their most recent taxi journey in 2014, a 0.6 percent increase from the previous year. Aspects such as ride comfort, customer service, information on taxi services, waiting time and taxi service safety have all seen marked improvements in commuter satisfaction.  The area that has seen the most improvement however was the ease of taxi booking, which Teo attributes to the growth of third-party taxi booking applications, which have faciliatated more efficient matching of taxis with commuters. The daily taxi utilisation rate has also increased, meaning less empty cruising on the roads.  Photo: Geoff Penaluna via Flickr
