Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Pasir Ris towns to receive various upgrades Plans have been announced to revitalise the neighbourhoods of Toa Payoh, Woodlands and Pasir Ris under the Housing and Development Boards (HDB) Remaking Our Heartland programe.  According to Senior Minister of State for National Development Lee Yi Shyan, the three towns join the rest of the municipalities lined up for revamps including Punggol, Yishun, Dawson, East Coast, Hougang and Jurong Lake, TODAY reports. Toa Payoh will be seeing a refurbished town centre and town park along with more public housing and parks around Caldecott MRT station after being upgraded to an interchange station along the future Thomson-East Coast Line.  Woodlands will be getting more recreational spaces along the Woodlands waterfront, with the entire waterfront stretch set to be opened to the public.  Plans for Pasir Ris include redeveloped neighbourhood centres and parks that will feature family-centred facilities.  Photo: Joshua Eckert via Flickr
