Australian post-rock icons sleepmakeswaves are set to make their Asian debut in Singapore in April as a quick stop in their European tour.
It's a peculiar way to gain popularity, but the quintet actually amassed a large following after someone combined one of their songs with a fan-made Twilight video on YouTube. Within days the video garnered a huge number of views and their track 'One Day, You Will Teach Me to Let Go of My Fears' downloaded over 50,000 times.
The quartet quickly established themselves as Australia's most prominent post-rock outfits, supporting the tremendous likes of Pelican, Russian Circles, Mono and Tortoise in tours. Taking on a more electronic direction in a traditionally guitar-driven genre, their sprawling instrumental compositions have left audiences undeniably enthralled with dramatic, high-octane live performances and their upcoming show at TAB promises nothing less.
Thanks to new concert promoter Gsonique, sleepmakeswaves will be performing live on Apr 25 at TAB together with local post-hardcore luminaries False Plaintiff. Tickets on sale through Peatix at $50; stay updated on the Facebook event page.
