![Video: NIVEA's deodorant ad that has feminists crying foul]()
It may be just another corporate attempt at going viral but NIVEA Singapore's new ad starring Munah Bagharib and Paul Twohill may have hit the wrong chord with feminists here.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

The body-care brand has been under fire from AWARE Singapore and netizens for pushing the idea that if women don't use the NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant (at just $4.90 for 50ml), they'll be relegated to pariah levels of social disapproval.
Though it may have been produced with comical intentions, not everyone's laughing. Netizens who've taken issue with the ad have made their concerns clear in the video's comment section, all of whom argue that it perpetuates a negative body image.
AWARE Singapore have also jumped into the debate with a tweet.
According to NIVEA, if you have the 'wrong' colour armpit you are unfit to interact with other people https://t.co/LppttdVx4N

On NIVEA's end of things, they've apologized over the offence and maintain that it's all just exaggerated humour. Go figure!
