Though the high-profile rat infestation near Bukit Batok MRT station has been brought under control, the rodent troubles of the neighbourhood are far from over.
According to The New Paper, the residents of Bukit Batok Avenue 8 are plagued by an invasion of hyper-aggressive rats, which have surged into homes and shops alike.
The rats have made burrows in grass patches surrounding Blocks 165, 166 and 167, and residents are driven mad by their antics.
Residents have resorted to measures such as placing acrylic fences on their gates, leaving rat traps outside their houses and placing potted plants over their burrow openings. Pest controllers are a familiar sight in the area.
A property manager for the estate informed The New Paper that though they've received occasional feedbacks about the rat problem, he maintains that it's not a serious infestation.
Tell that to the Bukit Batok folks who've already been driven to murophobia.
