Lone women walking around the housing estates of Jurong East, Pandan Gardens and Faber Walk have been in fear of a snatch thief, who has been plucking mobile phones away from them.
After receiving five similar reports from since January, the police have since arrested a 26-year-old man suspected to be involved in multiple cases of snatch theft yesterday.
Four of the stolen phones were recovered from the suspect and have been seized as case exhibits.
If convicted, he will face imprisonment of up to seven years and caning.
