How much can a old Singapore dollar note from the '80s fetch? Apparently, $1,700.
In a report by Lianhe Wanbao, a 60-year-old man by the name of Mr Fu is the proud owner of the defective note (with a corner sticking out), which he got from an ATM in Bukit Timah back in the 1980s.
His wife had kept the note and it was when Fu was packing her belongings after she died two years ago that he discovered the old dollar note, with its colors intact.
After bringing it to mint shops for inspection, he was told that the rare, defected note could fetch up to $1,700 if he sold it. Fu however decided not to do so, remarking that he'll keep it with him till the fates have something else planned. Perhaps it'll be kept as a memoribilia of his wife, and no money in the world could buy that off him.
