Dengue still continues to be a persistently troubling issue in Singapore as 2015's first case of fatality from the disease took place two days ago.
A 53-year-old female Chinese national who resided at West Coast Road was admitted to the National University Hospital on Feb 23, but unfortunately her condition made a turn for the worse and she passed away on the same day.
The area where she was living in was within an active seven-case dengue cluster, where the National Environmental Authority (NEA) found six counts of mosquito breeding so far. According to the press release, vector control operations to eradicate adult mosquitoes and potential breeding habits are ongoing.
