![Acclaimed jazz pianist Tan Wei Xiang to play Esplanade Recital Studio next month]()
New York based Singaporean pianist Wei Xiang will take the stage at the Esplanade Recital Studio next month as part of Late Nite @ Esplanade.
The trained lawyer started his foray into jazz at the age of 21 and his musical career skyrocketed ever since, sharing the stage with other jazz greats including James Morrison, Stanley Jordan and many more. His highly acclaimed talents has led him to perform at prestigious jazz venues around the world such as New York's Blue Note and 55 Bar.
Accompanying Wei will be his band, Grupo Clave, a South American influenced modern jazz group made up of Cuban drummer Pablo Calzado, conguero Leo Munoz and bassist Brandon Wong who'll be performing Wei’s own compositions and arrangements. Guest trumpeter Miki Hirose will also make an appearance.
