Massively popular ice cream purveyors Ben & Jerry's and social enterprise group The Thought Collective have come together for a collaborative initiative in conjunction with the SG50 celebrations in a curated series of trails to engage the public on a deeper level with current issues in the hope to inspire change and action, all while having fun with friends and of course, ice cream.
The Thought Collective Diverse-city Trails features three experiential trails that look to provide participants with a deeper level of understanding of the modern Singapore landscape from the perspectives of key community stakeholders, with visits to Little India, Toa Payoh and Jalan Besar.
The weekly trails seeks to spark discussions regarding the prevailing issues that Singapore faces around social cohesion and inspire participants to be more involved in the nation's next phase of development. The expedition in Little India for example will venture deep into the heart of a living community, examining the everyday lives of the individuals residing in the neighbourhood.
The public will be able to purchase tickets to the trail at $25 each on The Thought Collective website from March 16 onwards, with an early bird offer of $20 per ticket for the first 300 sign ups. Ben & Jerry's will also launch a renamed celebratory flavor called the 'Nice Kacang!' as part of the SG50 occasion.
