![Video: Behold the underwater dragon dance]()
Lion and dragon dances, held during auspicious events for good luck, took over Instagram during the Chinese New Year weekend, sharing the space only with VSCO shots of festive food.
Standing out from the crowd is the S.E.A Aquarium's latest event promo, the underwater dragon dance performance, which kicked off on Valentine's Day and will last through March 1.
The Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) say quite a bit had to be considered to realise the underwater dragon. For example, though the original story remains — the dance tells of the dragon's chase for the pearl — cosmetic changes had to be made to the show. The dragon is naturally, not made of papier-mâché, but a mixture of polyester and plastic to ensure its durability in water. Dancing divers' costumes won't be red in colour as this doesn't look good to viewers due to light refraction.
Catch this unquely Singaporean show at either the Shipwreck or Open Ocean Habitat, at 11am, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
Check the RWS blog for more info.
