A mishap on the Lentor flyover left a motorcyclist dead after a traffic accident hurled him onto the MRT tracks below, in between the Khatib and Yio Chu Kang train stations.
The Straits Times reported that SMRT personnel was involved to help the authorities access the train tracks to recover the body. Police were alerted to the incident around 1am on Thursday morning, where the unfortunate motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene.
SMRT has since replaced some damaged third rail covers that were dislodged from the incident. A spokesman assured that the track was thoroughly inspected to ensure its functionality before the start of train services.
