Future Music Festival Asia 2015 promises the most glorious dance party ever seen in Singapore

Following last year's controversial shut down of Future Music Festival Asia in Malaysia (hint: don't do drugs, kids), the annual dance music spectacle has moved across the borders and settled in to a new home in Singapore — and the final artist line-up just goes to prove that they haven't missed a beat.  As per usual, the international lineup for the Asian leg of the festival offers as much glitz and glamour as its original iterations in Australia, showcasing top-notch musical talents in the world of electronic dance music. The prominent likes of Avicii, Fatboy Slim, Nero, The Prodigy, Knife Party and even 74-year-old EDM pioneer Giorgio Moroder are set to blow up Changi Exhibition Centre on March 13 and 14. A notable addition to the FMFA lineup is of course the inclusion of hip hop legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Public Enemy.  Over in the local and regional side of things, the lineup is just as varied. Usually limited to largely Malaysian acts in previous years, the upcoming edition will feature local DJs such as Nez, Rah, Aldrin and the Poptart crew, while Indonesia's LTN and Bottlesmoker have found themselves joining the already illustrious lineup. Joe Flizzow (of Too Phat fame) and Lion City Boy himself Kevin Lester will be reppin' the region's hip hop scene.  Notably missing from this year's edition is FMFA mainstay A State Of Trance, and there's a lot less live bands this year; although the inclusion of South Korea's synthpop sons Glen Check is a nice touch (because they're really good).  Holding the festival at the colossal expanses Changi Exhibition Centre — previously used for the Metallica concert in 2013 — could only mean one thing: FMFA will be like no other music festival that's ever held here. Judging from their ambitious main stage plans (they've hired renowned stage designer James Klein) and the fact that there'll be a full-blown carnival going on simultaenously (bumper cars, gyro spin rides, a carousel and more, FMFA looks to be the ultimate festival experience in Singapore; something that could even match up to the scale of Ultra Music Festival.    (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Future Music Festival. Tickets are on sale now; more details and info on the FMFA official website.  Photo: FMFA
