Singapore bumps Rio and Bangkok for spot on top 7 cities listTokyo and Singapore are the newest cities to crack the list of top seven cities in the world as voted by the public. Though the second edition of the 7 Wonders of Cities 2015 is full of the usual suspects — Paris, London and New York, Tokyo and Singapore managed to bump Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok and snag two of the coveted spots. The Asian cities were able to fend off other strong contenders including Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai. While the winners of the inaugural awards last year were chosen from a mix of stats and a collection of different polls' results, this year, voting was opened to the public. The awards are organised by the same outfit that organises the more famous 7 Wonders of the World, which was originally launched as a way to promote and protect historical landmarks. Factors for consideration include population, attractions, accomplishments and overall appeal to the global community. This year, New York City received the most votes, followed by London. Otherwise, the list doesn’t include ranking information. "When you consider the array of iconic facets and characteristics of New York City, it is no wonder that it led the campaign in votes," said  Seven Wonders president Phillip Imler.
