In the latest development of the ongoing case against former tour guide Yang Ying, his lawyers have requested the High Court to release $3,000 weekly from his bank account under the terms of the Mareva injunction granted last year.
According to TODAY, his lawyers are seeking to lift the asset freezing order if the weekly $3,000 for personal and legal expenses are not disbursed.
Aside from the 349 criminal charges Yang is currently facing charges for falsification of accounts for his company, he is also being sued by Hedy Mok, the niece of affluent widow Chung Khin Chun over her multi-million dollar assets. Yang no longer holds control over Chung's assets after she revoked his Lasting Power of Attorney last year.
