Convicted bigamist found dead in Orchard on day he was due for jailTwo timing lovers is a morally questionable function, but at least it's not a criminal offence. Two timing spouses however are totally illegal here, and 48-year-old bigamist Tan Tee Wee was set to serve a two-month jail sentence for the offence — but he was found dead on the day he was due to surrender himself.  Tan had been sentenced to jail last November for marrying a second wife in New Zealand in 2010 despite already having a wife here, according to local media.  As the CEO of an events management company, Tan developed an intimate relationship with his colleague Esther Tan Wee Yee, and told her that he'd be filing a divorce with his wife Goh Geok Tin. They got married in Auckland soon after, and even had a grand wedding dinner at St Regis Hotel here. It was only later after a confrontation that Tan confessed that he was still married to Goh, and a police report was lodged against him. Tan pleaded guilty to bigamy in Nov. 26 last year. He had his sentence deferred after requesting to spend the school holidays with his children before being imprisoned.  On Wednesday, he was due to submit himself to the courts to serve his sentence. Tan was however found dead in a unit of the Hilltops condominium located at Cairnhill Circle. The cause of death is unknown, and so is the reason behidn his presence there as it wasn't his registered address. Police investigations are still on-going.  Photo: Artist's impression of Hilltops condominium
