Ever wondered what happens to K-pop stars who quit the business?
Great things, apparently.
Jessica Jung, who recently got booted out of Girls' Generation because of her fashion business, is now watching Blanc & Eclare bloom across the world.
And Singaporean member of SKarf Ferlyn G, looks set to enjoy similar success after leaving the group and Korea's CJ Entertainment in September last year.
Ferlyn launched her solo album First at Bugis+ shopping mall on Jan. 2. One of the songs in the album, "Luv Talk", describes her journey as a solo artist. "Luv Talk" comes in both Korean (watch MV below) and Mandarin, and contains some rap elements. Ferlyn wrote the rap for the Mandarin version, one way she contributes directly to the art. "I get to make my own music and give my own opinions," she told The New Paper. "I didn't have to consider the possibility of the album concept not fitting well with the other members."
Ferlyn also now has more freedom to be comfortable in her own skin. "My style and image are what I am right now. It's me," she said, addressing how she was made to play the tomboy during her SKarf days. "I tried, but I don't know if I succeeded portraying that image."
