As the top country in the world to adapt smartphones, an internet connection has essentially become a mandatory requirement in our everyday lives. A super high-speed internet network is in the works to unable uninterrupted online access for mobile devices when users move from their homes to MRT stations nearby.
HetNet — short for heterogenous network — reportedly allows data access speeds of up to 1 gigabytes per second, enabling users to seamlessly switch between different types of network.
TODAY reports that the government and their various authorities will be partnering with interested companies on potential industry projects to flesh out the HetNet dream. The trials will begin next year at selected MRT stations.
