The concept of wireless charging has been around for years — companies such as Nokia, Braun and Google have been pushing out products that seem to be magically recharged without the mess of cables and wires.
A Singapore-based startup however aims to take that concept to greater heights; Novelsys have announced the Ampere, the world's first portable wireless charger power bank.
The sleek, minimalist product boasts nothing more but to wirelessly charge our smartphones seamlessly on the go. Running on a 2,500mAh battery — or one full charge of an iPhone 6 — the Ampere is compatible with a wide variety of phones including Google, Samsung and iPhones. Phones without the natural capabilities of inductive charging (like your iPhones) will only need to connect to the slim receiver included that will enable wireless charging.
Other features of Ampere include bluetooth technology which allows it to communicate with smartphones through an app, where users are able to customise, set the time and duration for wireless charging and monitor battery life. Absent-minded users who often misplace either devices, can use the app to locate their Ampere and their phone both ways.
Ampere is set to launch for crowdfunding on Kickstarter next month at the estimated price of $79. More information available on the Novelsys website.
