An accident along the North-South highway in Muar, Johor, left two Singaporeans dead and two others seriously injured yesterday night.
Lianhe Zaobao reports that the car crash occured after they lost control of the car while heading toward Singapore. 54-year-old Lee Tink Kok and 77-year-old Leong Ngiok Lan were both seated in the front and were killed on the spot.
Rescuers managed to extricate the other passengers — 18-year-old Lee Yan Yi and 16-year-old Lee Yan Xuan — and conveyed them to Batu Pahat Hospital for treatment.
The accident was believed to have taken place at 7pm. The car collided into the road side divider and continued surging forward for almost two kilometers before hitting a tree and overturning.
