Acclaimed local playwright Haresh Sharma is set to stage his latest production Pioneer (Girls) Generation at the National Museum of Singapore in March.
While the title is inspired by K-pop sensation Girls Generation, the two-hour play's in fact about senior citizens — sassy, fierce independent and opinionated ones.
Pioneer (Girls) Generation shows how these folks, while staying in luxury at a retirement home, deal with the unanswered questions in their friendship, including whether or not they should form a K-pop group.
Described as a "no-holds-barred comedy with sharp and critical observations about ageing and everything else in Singapore", the play stars Audrey Luo, Catherine Sng, Dwayne Lau, Irene Ong, Padma Sagaram and Thomas Lim.
Pioneer (Girls) Generation will run from March 26 — 29, 2015. Tickets are on sale now for $27 each via Sistic. Of course, the pioneer generation gets a discount — their tickets are $19 each.
