A woman was found dead in a flat at Block 503 Tampines Central 1 early this morning (Dec. 17).
Police had received a call for assistance 11:43pm on Tuesday (Dec. 16) and had arrived to find her body lying motionless on the floor.
She was pronounced dead at 12:10am and the case has been classified as murder.
A 37-year-old man, who was found bleeding profusely on the ninth floor of Block 505 — just 30 metres away from the discovery site — has been arrested.
Channel NewsAsia (CNA) says the Singapore Civil Defence Force had to deploy an airbag on the ground floor of the apartment block.
It is unknown if the Chinese national couple had been married, but witnesses say they'd been staying in the unit where the body was found, for a couple of years.
Reporters who'd visited the flat found as many as eight other Chinese nationals there.
