Premium taxi drivers protest against segregated queue at Changi AirportPremium taxi drivers protested at the Singapore Changi Airport yesterday (Dec. 9) morning, The Straits Times (ST) reports.  A source told the local daily there were only about 50 taxis that were blaring their horns outside Terminal 1 between 1am and 2am to protest against a new segregated queue system. Others said there were as many as 400.  The trial, which kicked off at 3pm on Monday, was conducted "to provide commuters with clearer taxi choices", according to Changi Airport Group spokesman Robin Goh.  It separated passengers opting for a normal cab from those willing to fork out a little more for a premium cab such as a Chrysler and a MaxiCab, resulting in a dwindling of demand and an ultimately longer queue for drivers of the latter.  ST believes the trial will end soon and that the airport will revert to a common queue system.  Photo: Changi Airport
