Three men aged between 24 and 29 were charged in Court last weekend for housebreaking and theft.
On Dec. 1 at 7:30pm, a public entertainment outlet along South Bridge Road was reportedly broken into — a safe containing cash and bottles of wine were stolen.
After conducting extensive ground enquiries, officers from the Central Police Division managed to establish the identities of the suspects, leading to their arrest along North Bridge Road on Dec. 4, 8:30pm. Preliminary investigations revealed the suspects may have been involved in other similar cases.
Housebreaking and Theft by Night with Common Intention under Section 457 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, carries a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years.
