The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) issued an alarming press release yesterday, warning members of the public not to consume four illegal products that purport themselves as sexual enhancement pills, that may actually cause unsexy results including loss of vision and hearing, strokes and heart attacks.
The four products are ‘Mr Zack Powerbro’, ’Sparta X’, ‘Magic Penis’ and unlabelled dark green capsules.
Dick jokes and hilarious product branding choices aside, HSA identified that all four of them contain undeclared potent chemical ingredients that can cause serious adverse reactions. Lab tests revealed that they contained sildenafil — used to treat male erectile dysfunction — and various analogues of the compound.
‘Mr Zack Powerbro’ was touted for men’s health while ‘Sparta X’ and ‘Magic Penis’ claimed to maintain male stamina and improve sexual performance respectively. All three attested to contain only herbal ingredients on their labels, but lab tests proved otherwise. The unlabelled dark green capsules, packaged in blister packs, indicated nothing about the name or content of the product.
HSA asserts that inappropriate use of sildenafil and its usage while on nitrates can cause death. They advise that members of the public who are regular users of the four products immediately stop consuming them and seek proper medical attention should they be concerned about their health. Those who have information on the sale of illegal products are advised to contact HSA’s Enforcement branch.
