A 33-year-old man has been arrested for suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty that took place at the Promenade MRT station platform.
The 18-year-old female victim was alighting the train when the suspect allegedly touched her lower body. After confrontation, he was subsequently detained and arrested by the police. If found guilty, he will be punished with imprisonment of up to two years and caning.
This is the second case of outrage of modesty occuring at MRT stations and trains this month — a 29-year-old man was apprehended earlier in November for the same offence on the East-West bound train.
