A few days ago, observant shoppers witnessed a strange sight at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza: a man wearing swimming gear doing the freestyle stroke across the fountain.
He even did a victory sign when he'd completed a lap in the water, sparking suspicion it was a publicity stunt.
Did you recognise him?
Turns out, it was Ministry of Funny's own Haresh, best known for his funny 'street surveys' designed to find out how the public judged facades, like school uniforms and clubbing wear.
In this four-minute video, the YouTube comedian explains he did it to highlight the lack of attention given to local sports.
"...today, no one gives a shit about local sports anymore, which is really sad, but which also saves me a ton of money on gym memberships, 'cos I can be as sporty as I want wherever I want, without having to worry about anyone actually caring," he said.
Street Olympics - Sports in the City shows Haresh doing more than just splashing about in the Ngee Ann City fountain (which by the way is situated right in the middle of Orchard Road) — he also challenges an MRT train in a sprint on the station platform, plays table tennis across someone eating his meal and performs gymnastics at a crowded traffic light.
