Sim Lim Square shop Mobile Air reopens under new nameMobile Air, the errant retailer currently facing injunction proceedings from the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE), has reopened at Sim Lim Square under the name HJ Mobile.  CASE revealed last week that turning up under a new name has been common practice for shops that have been called out for engaging in unfair business practices, making it difficult for both the consumer watchdog and the Sim Lim Square management to clamp down on them.  Reports say the new shop is run by a Ricky Lee, who used to work for Mobile Air's former owner Jover Chew. He'd bought Chew's products at a 20 percent discount and was also offered cheaper rent.  Jover Chew has come under fire for a series of back-to-back incidents occurring at Mobile Air, including tricking an Indian national studying in Singapore and a Vietnamese tourist into purchasing iPhone warranty for an exorbitant amount. A video of the latter begging on his knees for a refund went viral, triggering a crowdfunding campaign. Chew has also been accused of paying a woman, who succeeded in getting over $1,000 in refund via the Small Claims Tribunal, completely in coins.  Customers are advised to enquire about a company registration number, which should be printed on all invoices, before parting with their money. While shops can change the name on their signboard as often as desired, company registration numbers usually stay consistent. Avoid doing business with companies 'blacklisted' by CASE.   Read Also:  SCAM LIM SQUARE: Everything we know so far Shady business owners keep coming back under different names: CASE
