Earlier today, the High Court revoked the order to grant bail to Yang Yin, the former tour guide embroiled in several high-profile legal battles including the fight for a widow’s multi-million dollar assets.
Yang is currently facing 331 charges for falsifying the accounts of his company Young Music and Dance Studio, amounting up to $450,000 in false receipts. Last week, a District Judge granted him bail of $150,000 after impounding his passport. The Deputy Chief Prosecutor argued that Yang should not be allowed on bail, as he no longer has any ties here after his wife and children returned to China a few months ago and might make a run for it.
Today, Channel NewsAsia reports that the bail has been revoked and he is currently in remand.
Yang will return to court on Dec. 4.
