The December school holidays bring good tidings to not only children, but to motorists as well — the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced shorter Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) operating hours for foreign-registered vehicles and reduced Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates across various roads with effect from Nov. 15.
As part of the country’s ongoing initiatives to attract foreign visitors to Singapore during the school holidays, VEP operating hours will end earlier at 12pm on weekdays — drivers of foreign-registered vehicles will not need to pay VEP fees for the day if they drive into Singapore after 12 noon and leave 2am the following day.
After the end of the December school holidays period, normal VEP fees will resume to the normal charging from 2am to 5pm daily except on weekends and public holidays.
Local motorists will be able to enjoy decreases ERP rates in various gantries, with reductions of up to $1.
Both schemes will kick in from Nov. 15 to Dec. 31 this year.
