An accident along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) yesterday left five people injured and helluva lot more infuriated when a portion of the expressway was locked down and shut out for more than 12 hours.
The massive traffic jam that followed was due to the immense nature of the accident, involving five vehicles including a truck, a private bus, a diesel tanker and a car, TODAY reports. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced the closure of SLE towards the Central Expressway (CTE) after Lentor Exit on their Twitter account in the morning, and only opened the first lane to traffic later on, close to midnight.
Motorists were left fuming, with most of them expressing anger at the untimely closure of the expressway on what would have been a pleasant Sunday morning for them. Drivers stuck at the affected roads even had to reverse their way out of the expressway.
All the lanes were opened only this morning at 4.22am.
