42-year-old suspect arrested for involvement in ATM vandalism casesThe culprit behind the recent cases of vandalised Automated Teller Machines (ATM) has been found out — police have arrested a 42-year-old man yesterday for suspected involvement in a spree of loanshark harassment cases.  Last week, two ATMs in the east-side were found vandalised and splashed carelessly with paint, with debtor’s notes left at the scene.  According to a press release by the Singapore Police Force, officers from the Bedok Police Division, Criminal Investigation Department and Police Intelligence department worked together in the investigations, and were able to ascertain the suspect’s identity through footage from police cameras.  Further investigations revealed that the man is believed to be responsible for other loanshark harassment cases.  He was arrested during an operation in the vicinity of Syed Alwi Road yesterday. Handphones, gloves and a mask was seized from his possession.  The suspect is due to be charged in court tomorrow, where he is liable for five years imprisonment and/or a fine up to $50,000 if found guilty.  Photo: Singapore Police Force   Read Also: Two POSB ATMs vandalised in possible loanshark harassment case Not again?
