Making the expedition across the northern borders have always been generally dull affairs — most of the time you just sleep on the bus as it makes its several-hour long trip to whichever Malaysian city you’re going.
The folks at music website Bandwagon Singapore have something else in mind this December with the launch of The Bandwagon, a mobile pre-party for the upcoming Urbanscapes music and creative arts festival at Resorts World Genting, featuring live music and other activities in an entertainment-filled all-in-one roadtrip package.
Malaysia’s longest-running arts festival returns on Dec. 6 with a star studded music lineup featuring the likes of Kimbra, Local Natives, Jagwar Ma and many other acts from around the Southeast Asia including Filipino downtempo singer-songwriter June Marieezy, Malaysian math-rock veterans Dirgahayu and Singapore’s own indie rock darlings Cashew Chemists.
Bandwagon’s package however is an all in one deal that ensures a pair of seats on The Bandwagon bus (to and fro Singapore and Malaysia), a pair of tickets to the festival and a standard double room at First World Hotel at Genting. The buses will feature intimate live performances from some of Singapore’s top music outfits including Gentle Bones, Pleasantry, Inch Chua and .gif, along with a slew of group activities that’ll make the journey up the mountains a refreshingly entertaining ride with other like-minded music enthusiasts.
Tickets on sale via Peatix at $469 for 2 persons; more details available on the official Bandwagon Festival Bus website.
