After a seven-year long wait, library@orchard returns to the city at the Orchard Gateway shopping mall, complete with a sophisticated new look within two storeys dedicated to design, lifestyle and the applied arts.
The library was launched by Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yacoob Ibrahim this morning, according to TODAY. Boasting over 1,700 square metres in space, the new library@orchard is even bigger than its predecessor at Ngee Ann City, and is chic look was specifically designed to appeal to the young.
Featuring a collection of around 100,000 materials available, the library carries the largest public collection on design and applied art, magazines, fiction books and audio-visual materials in four different languages. A slew of modern features such as integrated displays and pod-inspired seating are also introduced for a fresher learning and thinking environment.
Programmes such as iPad graphic design workshops, art photography talks and more are being planned to celebrate the opening of library@orchard. More information can be found on their official website.
