Body retrieved from Singapore River near Swissotel Merchant Court

The body of a 30-year-old man was retrieved from the Singapore River on Tuesday night.  The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated to the Straits Times that they were alerted to incident at 7.15pm. Sparking a commotion along the Clarke Quay that evening around 7pm, police cordoned off the area as rescuers and divers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force searched the river in an hour-long operation.
