The body of a 30-year-old man was retrieved from the Singapore River on Tuesday night.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) stated to the Straits Times that they were alerted to incident at 7.15pm. Sparking a commotion along the Clarke Quay that evening around 7pm, police cordoned off the area as rescuers and divers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force searched the river in an hour-long operation. According to various reports, the body was found in the waters near Swissotel Merchant Court Singapore. He was pronounced dead on land by paramedics.
In a similar incident that took place earlier in July, the body of a Caucasian man was recovered from the Singapore River.
Police investigations are ongoing.
