A survey conducted by the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) reveals that common prices for hawker food have increased by 10 to 20 percent.
This applies to food like chicken rice and chicken briyani, two of the food items considered in the survey on 503 stalls islandwide, conducted in July this year.
The prices for roti prata and mixed vegetables rice have also increased. Only the common price of fishball noodles has remained at $3 since 2012.
Despite this, CASE believes that hawker food in Singapore is still affordable, considering there are still many stalls that charge below the common price for their food, though they have decreased in number.
