Last week, a member of the public discovered two light anti-tank dummy weapons also known as MATADORs (Man-portable Anti-tank, Anti-door), lying near the junction of Sungei Tengah and Old Choa Chu Kang Road.
The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) said that they were mock-up weapons, inert and only meant for training. They were each 90mm wide, weighed 8.9kg and did not contain projectile.
According to Channel NewsAsia, the unit involved in this slip-up cannot be identified yet as investigations are still ongoing.
The MATADORS was created through a collaboration between the SAF, Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Dynamit Nobel Defence (DND). They're commonly used by Armour units during their field training.
