The National Environment Agency (NEA) will be taking action against a chicken rice stall at Marina Bay Sands after a line of roaches was spotted near the counter located at 1983 – A Taste of Nanyang foodcourt.
Under the Environment Public Health Act, licensees who fail to ensure their licensed premises are free from pest infestation are liable to a fine of up to $2,000. Upon conviction, they’ll face six demerit points.
According to Channel News Asia, NEA also warned the food court operator – who has since voluntarily closed for cleaning – to strengthen their pest control regime and be mindful of proper food storage and waste management measures.
