![Lily Allen to finally make Singapore debut in February]()
Eight years since she shot to stardom, Lily Allen has finally announced her concert debut in Singapore come February 2015.
Emerging on radio airwaves in 2006 with her single ‘Smile’, the British singer-songwriter stood apart from other cloyingly saccharine pop tunes ruling the era with her witty, literate lyrics while taking pride in her English upbringings through a thick Cockney accent with elements of ska, reggae and grime in her music.
Rising quickly in fame in the UK with more singles from her debut album Alright, Still, Allen appeared in numerous music festivals and had her own TV show on BBC before releasing a follow-up album. Following a number of controversial outbursts, provocative remarks and intoxicated appearances, she took a hiatus in 2010 and only revived her music career proper in recent years.
Officially returning to the mainstream with the release of her third studio album Sheezus earlier in May, critics have praised her comeback as a return to her caustic form, fearlessly preceptive in her anti-pop outlook and punchy social commentary.
Catch her Lily Allen in her triumphant return, live at The Star Theatre on Feb. 2. Tickets go on sale from Oct. 20 at $128, $138, $148 and $168 on Sistic. More details on the Lushington Entertainments website.
