Yayasan Mendaki has lodged an official complaint to the authorities on individuals claiming to raise funds on behalf of the Malay/Muslim self-help group.
Recent cases involve a man selling Muslim calendars in the Tampines residential areas, claiming to be an employee of Mendaki.
In a statement released via Channel NewsAsia, Mendaki cautioned members of the public against trusting unauthorised donation drives. "...charitable organisations that are licensed to solicit cash donations would have a Collector's Certificate of Authority from the National Council of Social Service," the statement read.
Mendaki disclaimed any liabilities in its complaint, stating it doesn't organise charity drives in public areas.
