Now, it's no longer just letters and parcels that pass through SingPost’s mailboxes.
The national public postal service has teamed up with 3D matters, a Singapore-based 3D printing solutions provider, to introduce a new service: the SingPost Innovation Corner. This 3D printing concept’s devised to provide individual customers and businesses the ability to print prototypes and models.
Its pilot program launched on Sept. 29 at SingPost’s new Suntec City outlet. Printing charges go from $19.90 for a pendant to $459 for a full-body figurine.
Although US Postal Service (UPS) declared that they’re going to carry out a similar program in July, the Republic actually beat them to it by being the first country to implement the facility.
Alongside the postal sevice's efforts to enhance customers' experience, SingPost will be opening up new outlets and refurbishing its current ones. The newly renovated postal service stores will mimic a “lifestyle hub” that offers 24/7 basic postal services.
