Heavy traffic expected at immigration checkpoint during Hari Raya HajiThe Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is advising everyone going through the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas to travel responsibly as traffic's expected to be heavy, with the build up beginning Friday.  Travellers are encouraged to take the public transport instead of walking to the Woodlands Checkpoint during this peak period, and if driving, to carpool and maintain lane discipline at all times.  To help the checkpoints to run more efficiently, Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents and Long Term Pass holders are recommended to use the enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System (eIACS). The ICA will be setting up more automated passport clearance facilities for motorcyclists and bus travellers. Additional manual counters will also be opened up to facilitate the flow of visitors. For information about the latest traffic conditions, visit One Motoring website or MyTransport.SG portal, stay tuned to TrafficWatch on the radio, or ring the traffic information hotline at 6863-0117.
