![More than 6kg of heroin seized in biggest bust this year]()
In an operation launched by Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Tuesday, officers nabbed a local drug syndicate leader and member – aged 44 and 46 – along with a large impoundment of heroin and cannabis.
The two Singaporean males were arrested at a commercial building in Geylang; believed to be the syndicate’s hideout. Police seized 535g of heroin from the car the suspects were found in. Another 5.5kg of heroin, 1.3kg of cannabis, and various other drugs were confiscated from their unit in the building.
Police unearthed another 460g of heroin when they raided the 44-year-old male’s Jalan Kayu residence.
A total of 6.5kg of heroin, 1.3kg of cannabis, handful of other drugs and about $12,000 were taken away after the operation.
Investigations are underway. If found guilty, both men may face the death penalty.
