Gabriel Loh, who suffered from jaundice all his life, was found in a pool of blood at the bottom of Block 704 after falling five storeys from the flat where he lived with his unemployed mother and grandmother. He was pronounced dead after arriving at National University Hospital.
According to Channel NewsAsia, Mrs. Loh has a medical background of psychiatric conditions and was posted to the Institute of Mental Health in 2006. It was brought up in court today that she was suffering from post-schizophrenic depression when the incident happened.
The 32-year-old mother was originally subjected to an indictment for murder, but the charge was changed to culpable homicide due to her financial status and medical history.
