On Sept. 9 at around 12:45pm, officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) found 13 live puppies stored in a Singapore-registered car.
The car was driven by a lone Singaporean woman, who'd had the puppies stuffed in black bags under the driver's seat, in front of the passenger seat and even inside the glove compartment.
The ICA reminds travellers that it is a crime to bring live animals, birds and insects into Singapore without a proper permit. Animals that are smuggled into Singapore are of unknown health status and may introduce zoonotic diseases such as rabies, into the country.
