A 75-year-old woman died yesterday in a serious accident at Lorong Ah Soo.
Two others were injured in the crash, where a car and a bus collided head-on at the junction of Lorong Ah Soo and Hougang Avenue 1, according to various media reports. The Singapore Civil Defence Force rescuers had to utilise hydraulic tools to extricate two young men - 19 and 21 years of age - from the car’s wreckage, and have been conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The elderly lady, who was sitting in the back of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Lianhe Wanbao, the bus was ferrying more than 10 workers to a construction site located in Jurong when the accident occurred.
Investigations are ongoing.
