At an Annual General Meeting (AGM) Friday, General Secretary of the Football Association of Singapore Winston Lee said FIFA's flexible requirements for the tournament, not as stringent as those for the actual World Cup, will work in their favour. "In terms of stadiums, six football-specific ones will be enough... that puts us in a good position to speak with Sport Singapore," he said, citing the National Stadium and other smaller facilities with 5,000 to 10,000 seats.  He also said that FAS has already been talking to the sports authority about building football-specific stadiums for the S. League, so "it's working out well in terms of timing".  Lee, who was hosted by FIFA to experience the recent World Cup tournament in Brazil, said Singapore is quite ahead in its preparations, considering FIFA has not even announced the bidding period for the Under-17 event.  It was reported that FAS vice-presidents Bernard Tan and Edwin Tong have already formed a committee to oversee the bidding process and put together a competitive national Under-17 team.
