Dutch embassy apologises for behaviour of hostile diplomat The Netherlands Embassy has apologised for the behaviour of a Dutch diplomat who was recorded on camera yelling abuse at an elderly Land Transport Authority (LTA) officer. The clip, uploaded last Saturday on The Real Singapore Facebook page, shows a young foreign expatriate in a heated argument with an LTA traffic warden. According to the uploader, the Caucasian man was seen “verbally abusing” the officer because he was told to move his vehicle, which is clearly shown to be parked on a yellow zig-zag line. The hostility continues for almost a minute before the diplomat drove off.  According to parking rules and regulations, a single zig-zag yellow line indicates no parking at all times along the side of the road. Motorists who do so face demerit points and a fine of up to $300.   (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by The Real Singapore. In response to a written message by a concerned Singaporean, the Dutch embassy replied by stating that the man has apologised for his behaviour and assures that the parking fine will be paid, writes The Real Singapore. The video raised an uproar amongst netizens, with most comments made in support of the LTA officer. Gabriel Khoo calls the expatriate a “diplomat who is not up to the task of being diplomatic”, while Dutch national Bas Melssen confirms that the car belongs to the Netherlands embassy, and expressed his embarrassment for his fellow countryman.  Photo: Alanchow76's Blog Read Also: Obnoxious Special: 10 ways to double confirm you're an expat in Singapore
