![Watch: Ikea Singapore pokes fun at Apple's launch videos]()
Ikea Singapore recently took a dig at Apple with a witty parody of the iPad launch video.
The video invites customers to experience the power of a ‘bookbook’ — the Ikea 2015 catalog dressed in the trademark Apple hyperbole, employing the use of white backgrounds and rhapsodic narration.
Immediately we realise just how 'revolutionary' the ‘bookbook’ is; no wires are needed and battery life is eternal. Crystal-clear pages load instantaneously, bookmarking is as easy as dog-earring it, and a voice-activated password protection system exclaims, “excuse me, that’s mine!”.
By the end of the video, we’re convinced of the Ikea catalog’s potent power, and we can’t help ourselves from wanting one as well. Like many other Apple products though, we’re pretty sure folks will only use it for a year before moving on to the next overstatement.
