Cool Beans: Starhub and Xbox team up for robust entertainment package Microsoft’s next-generation gaming console the Xbox One is still not available for purchase in Singapore today even though it was officially launched in May last year. Now we know exactly why. According to a report on Channel NewsAsia, Microsoft has been working together with telecommunications company Starhub to allow Xbox One users access to the Starhub TV Anywhere application. This would mean that Starhub customers will have the integrated ability to watch all 89 Starhub channels through the Xbox itself, allowing for a seamless entertainment experience between gaming and television shows.  Starhub’s application will also work together with existing Xbox One navigational functionalities including voice and hand gesture recognition via the Kinect device, and Microsoft’s Smartglass app which allows user to control their console through their phones and tablets.  This partnership helps to achieve Microsoft’s vision for their console to be an all-in-one living room entertainment centre, allowing inter-connectivity between all forms of media. With this feature, the Xbox differentiates itself from gaming rival Playstation, which markets itself as a hardcore gaming console and has been enjoying healthy sales and popularity among Singaporeans since its launch here last December. The Xbox One will be available in Singapore on Sept. 23.  Photo: Xbox Singapore Facebook page Read Also: Cool Beans: Singapore's premiering our very own gaming convention in October
